Valeria Mazza (born February 17, 1973) is an Argentine supermodel. She rose to fame when, in 1996, she appeared on Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition cover with Tyra Banks. Mazza has also appeared on the covers of Glamour, ELLE, and Vogue.Born in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina, Mazza was discovered when she was only 16 by hairstylist Roberto Giordano. In 1998, she appeared in the movie Paparazzi. Later that same year she married businessman Alejandro Gravier.*

There's a new Australian top model on the scene. And as the photos clearly show, Ms McNeil is simply scintillating.

Born in Australia on the 30th of May, 1989, the young model lived a modest life with her mother and grandparents in Logan, which is in the north eastern Australian state of Queensland. She was never in love with school, and wanted to be an auto mechanic originally, but fate had other plans...
The stunningly beautiful Australian model has emerged as a new force in the fashion industry, and after completing her fashion show season in 2007 as a 17-year-old, she's already been labelled a model watch.



Her desire to be a mechanic (word on the street is that she loves machines, perhaps this should be an article on the Motoring Channel?) was put on hold after she won the 2003 Girlfriend Magazine model search, which resulted in a trip to New York to meet with a modeling agency.
She ended up signing on with Next, one of the larger and more sought-after agencies, but it wasn't jet setting from the age of 14. Catherine was happy to hear that her agents were very impressed with her natural look, but they said that she needed to grow and mature, and so she was sent back to Australia with the proviso "Call us in a few years".

For the next three years, between 2004 and 2006, McNeil's local modeling career began to blossom, and she spent a lot of time in Sydney working on ad campaigns for the likes of Zimmerman, Cue, Alannah Hill, and Myer, and was featured in glossies such as Madison, Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar.

In the first half of 2006 at the age of 17, Catherine McNeil was standing 180cm tall, and had lost much of her puppy fat that was part of her adolescence when she won the 2003 Girlfriend magazine model thingy. She returned to New York, to the Next Modeling Agency and the rest,as they sometimes say in poorly-researched online features, is history.

Karolina Kurkova

Born in the town of Decin, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) on February 28th, 1984, Karolina Kurkova had a slight taste of what celebrity would be like, as her father Josef Kurka was a star basketball player. As a child, her height made her relatively awkward and gangly, but that would all change with age. A close friend recognized her beauty and sent photos of Kurkova to an agency in Prague. Kurkova immediately landed a runway appearance, not to mention a commercial and print ad.

Still, being a model in the Czech Republic did not expose her to what fashion was really about, so Kurkova took a chance and traveled to Milan to gain some more experience. There, Miuccia Prada (the designer behind the famous brand name) signed her to a contract that proved to be the beginning of her stellar career. On September 7th, 1999, Kurkova's hard work as a 15-year-old model culminated in a meeting with some Vogue editors in New York. She impressed them immediately and the execs began to slowly groom her for success. A move to the Big Apple and hectic work schedule ensued. It all paid off when Kurkova finally made her presence known in the February 2001 issue of Vogue. One of the youngest models ever to grace its cover, the magazine helped propel her to stardom. She was now recognized at haute couture fashion shows and Victoria's Secret swept her up and chose her to be part of that year's television special, in November. Even fashion houses like Yves Saint Laurent took note of the stunning beauty and proceeded to sign Kurkova to deals.

Print campaigns for Tommy, Valentino and others helped expose Karolina Kurkova even more, while she headlined the second Victoria's Secret show the following year. The constant flow of work (she is said to have worked 23 weeks straight) was recognized by Vogue as they honored her with the "Model of the Year" title at the 2002 VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards. The usual contracts with big designers such as Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta and Balenciaga continued, and a recent tally put Kurkova's magazine cover appearances at 60 and counting. She is revered as much in the fashion world for her personality, which is described as intense and energetic, as for her looks. This attractive attitude leaves little doubt that Kurkova will emerge as a legendary supermodel; even Vogue editor Anna Wintour called her the "next supermodel." Living in New York's TriBeCa district with her longtime boyfriend, Karolina Kurkova is able to separate herself from modeling enough to enjoy courtside basketball games at Madison Square Garden. We only hope that she can keep up this frenetic work pace or realize that sometimes, less is more.

Adriana Francesca Lima (born June 12,1981 in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil) is a Brazilian supermodel. She is famous for her exotic beauty and best known for her work with Victoria’s Secret. She was discovered while at a local mall at age of 13. The blue/gray-eyed Brazilian beauty can attribute her exotic good looks to her French, Portuguese, Native-American, and Caribbean heritage.

Ana Beatriz Barros (born May 29, 1982 in Itabira, Brazil) is a Brazilian supermodel.She was discovered by the Director of Elite Management who was vacationing in Brazil. In 1998 she won the Brazilian Elite Look of the year and was placed second at the International Elite Look of the Year. Then she was given an offer by Guess?.

Ana has featured on the covers of Capricho (Brazil), Nova and 20 Ans (France), and has appeared in magazines such as Elle (Brazil), Claudia (Brazil), Allure (US), Woman (Spain), and Audi (Brazil).
